(vorne 27-zeiligen, rückseitig 42-zeiligen) Hs. in gotischer Textura mit einigen Versalien in Rot und Blau, die etwa zu einem Drittel abgedeckt werden durch den breiten Schweinslederrücken auf 4 Bünden mit ornamentaler und figürlicher Blindprägung (dat. 1562).

Alte Drucke, Bibeln, Klassische Autoren in den Originalsprachen – Zweite Ausgabe der bei Herwagen 1535 erstmals erschienenen berühmten Sammlung spätantiker Lehrgedichte zur Astronomie und Astrologie. Das Werk ist eine Sammlung von Geschichten, die die Mythologie der griechischen Sternbilder erzählen. Es wurde erstmals im späten 15. Jahrhundert veröffentlicht und war eines der frühesten Werke, in dem die Sternbilder abgebildet waren. Der Text enthält auch Rückblicke auf die mythologischen Ursprünge der Sterne und des Tierkreises. Vorgebunden: Homer, Homeri Opera graeco-latina, quae quidem nunc extant, omnia. Hoc est: Ilias, Odyssea, Batrachomyomachia, et Hymni: Praeterea Homeri uita ex Plutarcho.....In haec operam suam contulit Sebastianus Castalio..... (2) 292 S., 317 (1) S., 1 weißes Bl., mit Holzschnitt-Druckermarke a.T. und 100 Bildinitialen im Text. Basel, Nicolaus Brylinger, 1561. Erste Ausgabe von Castellios Homer-Ausgabe: griech.-lat. Parallelausgabe, die auch Plutarchs Vita des Dichters enthält. - Eine Seite mit Einriss (dieser geklebt), etwas gebräunt, teils etwas braunfleckig, vor allem am Rand.

Binding of the period with covers on both sides: 2 single fol. of a Latin manuscript (27 lines on the front, 42 lines on the back) in Gothic textura with some versals in red and blue, about one third of which are covered by the broad pigskin spine on 4 frets with ornamental and figural blind embossing (dat. 1562).- Second edition of the famous collection of late antique didactic poems on astronomy and astrology first published by Herwagen in 1535. The work is a collection of stories recounting the mythology of the Greek constellations. It was first published in the late 15th century and was one of the earliest works to depict the constellations. The text also includes reviews of the mythological origins of the stars and the zodiac. - Pre-bound: as listed. First edition of Castellio's Homer edition: Greek-Latin. Parallel edition, which also includes Plutarch's Vita of the poet. One page with tear (this glued), a little bit browned, partly a little bit brownstained, especially at margins.
