Alte Drucke, Bibeln, Klassische Autoren in den Originalsprachen – VD16, A 3747. Paulus, 128 (9). Von Hase, 313. - Arnoldi war Professor der Philosophie und später der Theologie in Erfurt und lehrte u.a. Martin Luther. Unter dessen Einfluss trat er 1512 dem Augustinerorden bei. Bis 1518 hielt er Freundschaft mit Luther, wurde dann jedoch zum vehementen Gegner der Reformation in Erfurt und verfasste mehrere Streitschriften. - Letztes weißes Bl. mit zeitgen. Manuskript-Seite. Vorsätze erneuert. Vereinzelt mit zeitgen. Marginalien. 1 Bl. mit hinterlegtem kurzen Einriss. Letztes Bl. im linken Rand hinterlegt. Teils etwas fleckig und leicht gebräunt.
Prints before 1600, Bibles, Classics in Original Languages – With woodcut title border. Vellum in the style of the time with handwr. title on spine and marble endpapers. - Arnoldi was professor of philosophy and later of theology in Erfurt and taught Martin Luther among others. Under Luther's influence, he joined the Augustinian Order in 1512. He remained friends with Luther until 1518, but then became a vehement opponent of the Reformation in Erfurt and wrote several controversial pamphlets. - Last white leaf with contemporary manuscript page. Endpapers renewed. Isolated with contemporary marginalia. One leaf with short restored tear. Last leaf backed in left margin. Partly somewhat stained and lightly browned.
