Wittigau für Kirchner, 1657. 8 Bll. (v. 12?), 183, 283, 84, 203 S, 23 Bll. (bis hier hebräische Sortierung von rechts nach links), 292, 160, 70 S. (Sortierung von links nach rechts). Fol. Schweinsldr. d. Zt. mit Streicheisenlinien, Rollen- u. Plattenstempeln (beschabt, berieben u. bestoßen, fleckig, Gelenk angeplatzt, Schließbänder entfernt).

Alte Drucke, Bibeln, Klassische Autoren in den Originalsprachen – Vgl. VD17 3:006804G. - Bibles Paris 83-84. - Paisey (BL) B-972. - Nicht in Darlow/Moule. - Berühmte sächsische polyglotte Bibel, welche 1657 vom Kurfürsten von Sachsen für die lutherischen Kirchen autorisiert wurde. Enthält das hebräische AT, das dem lateinischen Text von Santes Pagninus (1470-1536) gegenübergestellt wird, sowie das griechische NT, das dem lateinischen Text der Vulgata gegenübergestellt wird, beide zusammengestellt und herausgegeben von B. Arias Montanus. - Papierbedingt gebräunt, wenige Bll. etw. fleckig, die Vorsätze etw. knickspurig u. angeschmutzt, mit zeitgenöss. Besitzeintrag. Insgesamt wohlerhaltenes Exemplar.

Prints before 1600, Bibles, Classics in Original Languages – Biblia graeco-latina / hebraica - With engraved title-page and 1 double-page copper engraving. Partly Hebrew sorting from right to left. Contemporary pigskin (scuffed, rubbed and bumped, soiled, joint chipped, closing bands removed). - Famous Saxon polyglot Bible authorised by the Elector of Saxony in 1657. Contains the Hebrew OT confronted with the Latin text of Santes Pagninus (1470-1536) and the Greek NT confronted with the Latin text of the Vulgate, both compiled and edited by B. Arias Montanus. - Paper browned, a few pages somewhat spotted, endpapers somewhat creased and soiled, with contemporary ownership inscription. Overall a well preserved copy.
