Alte Drucke, Bibeln, Klassische Autoren in den Originalsprachen – Erste Ausgabe. - Hauser 1437 - Adams B 512 - Die teils grotesk verzierten Initialen gelten als eine der einfallsreichsten seiner Zeit. Die E-Initiale auf Seite 190 z.B. stellt den berühmt gewordenen verrückten Gelehrten dar, der später von Pierre Le Voirrier in den 1582 veröffentlichten Werken des Tacitus aufgegriffen wurde. - "C'est à la suite de la publication de ce livre que l'auteur fut nommé historiographe du roi. L'auteur nous avertit lui-même qu'il ne cherche pas les causes des événements, ne pénètre pas les conseils des hommes, mais veut seulement écrire un Panégyrique des faicts de Charles, une Carlaïde. Il dit du bien de tous, évite les questions contentieuses" (Hauser). - Teils etwas fleckig und gebräunt, Titelbl. mit etwas Kritzelei, erste 2 Bll. mit ergänzter Eckfehlstelle, fehlen 2 Bll. des Registers.

Restored leather binding with gilt vignette on cover (somewhat stained and rubbed, spine replaced in style of the time). - Partly somewhat stained and browned, title-page with some scribbling, first 2 ll. with supplemented corner missing, 2 ll. of the index lacking.
