Lot 320 Pablo Picasso. Les Danseurs. 1956. Konvexer …
Les Danseurs. 1956. Konvexer Wandteller aus Madoura-Keramik. 18,5 x 18,5 cm. Verso mit dem Stempel "Empreinte originale De Picasso" sowie dem Stempel Madoura Plein Feu. - Mit einer haarfeinen, kaum sichtbaren Bereibung. Insgesamt ausgesprochen gut.
Klassische Moderne – A. Ramié 388.
Classical Modernism – Convex wall plate made from Madoura ceramic. Verso with the stamp "Empreinte originale De Picasso" and the stamp Madoura Plein Feu. - With a hair-thin, barely visible rubbing. Overall exceptionally good. - A. Ramié 388 - The present wall plate, created in 1956 in the Madoura workshop in Vallauris, is one of Pablo Picasso's most important ceramic works, in which he combines traditional craft techniques with the freedom of his modern pictorial language. A dynamic scene of dancing figures unfolds on the round surface, their stylised bodies defined by clear contours, reduced forms and rhythmic movements. Picasso utilises the sculptural quality of the ceramic medium to make movement and composition directly tangible. The flat shape of the plate is not understood as a limiting space, but as a stage for a spontaneous yet precisely designed ensemble of figures.
