Every private collection is a unique work with its own history. Disposing of such a collection, in whole or in part, is always a process in which farewells and new beginnings meet. For our house, the auction of a private collection is not only a responsible task, but also one of the most beautiful challenges in the auction business. Not only the objects in the collection, but also the collection itself often has its own special story to tell. In the case of extensive holdings, we therefore offer a separate thematic auction catalogue, which fleshes out the collection, its orientation and the collectors by means of a mostly bilingual introduction. The thematic catalogues are carefully scientifically edited and researched, lavishly illustrated and published in German and English, so that they can later serve as an important reference for the provenance of a work. In addition, we ensure the international marketing of a private collection in the press and digital media.
As part of our regular expert trips throughout Europe, we are also happy to visit you on site and inspect your collection, provide advice and give an initial market assessment.
