Jahrhunderts, das mit zahlreichen Künstlern der klassischen Moderne zusammenarbeitete. Das Blatt gehört zur Mappe Au Baiser d'Avignon, die in begrenzter Auflage herausgegeben wurde und Picassos unverwechselbare expressive Linienführung und formale Reduktion eindrucksvoll wiedergibt. Mit wenigen, fließenden Linien verdichtet Picasso die Form zu einer sinnlichen Darstellung. In dieser Arbeit manifestiert sich Picassos lebenslange Auseinandersetzung mit der menschlichen Figur in Verbindung mit Erotik und Intimität.

With a few flowing lines, Picasso condenses the form into a sensual representation. This work manifests Picasso's lifelong exploration of the human figure in relation with eroticism and intimacy.
