Jh., Venaissin, Südfrankreich), mit deren mittels schwarzer Tinte auf dem Vorderdeckel aufgemalten Wappen. - Titelblatt mit zwei Besitzereinträgen des 15. u. in brauner bzw. schwarzer Tinte. - Fehlerhafte Paginierungen: "dii" statt "diii", "eiii" statt "eiiii". - Bl. 1 mittig mit mehreren Wurmlöchern, deshalb verso mit minimalem Textverlust, sonst durchgehend im unbedruckten Fußsteg mit Wurmgang. Kopfschnitt und Ränder mitunter etwas schmutz-, finger- und stockfleckig, im Fußsteg mit leicht sichtbaren Wasserrändern. Insgesamt solides Exemplar dieser Inkunabel mit alter Adelsprovenienz.

Prints before 1600, Bibles, Classics in Original Languages – Pseudo-Bernard's treatise on the proper modus vivendi of Christians, our copy from old French aristocratic provenance. - For references see above. - Second edition published printer Venetian printer Benalio, after the editio princeps of 1490. - The work is attributed to the French Cistercian and early scholastic Bernard of Clairvaux (1090-1153), but most likely originated from the pen of his fellow monk and compatriot Thomas de Beverly-Froidmont (c. 1150-1225). - Provenance: Counts of Achard (13th-18th century, Venaissin, southern France), with their coat of arms incorporating 3 helmets painted in black ink on the front cover. - Title page with two owner inscriptions from the 15th and 16th century respectively in brown and black ink. - Incorrect pagination: 'dii' instead of 'diii', "eiii" instead of 'eiiii'. - Fol. 1 has several wormholes in the centre, resulting in a minimal text loss on the verso, otherwise wormholes throughout the unprinted bottom margin. Top edge and all margins occasionally slightly soiled, with finger stains and foxing, slightly visible water marks at bottom margin. Overall, a solid incunabula with old aristocratic provenance.
