Lombardica historia que a plerisqe Aurea legenda sanctoru appellatur. Fast durchgehend mit roten eingemalten Lombarden und Rubrizierung, mit 47-zeiligem Druck. Straßburg, (Der Drucker des Jordanus de Quedlinburg 1483), 1496. 264 Bll. (Kollation: 1-2 (8/6), a-y (86), z8, A6, B8, C6, D8, E-F6, G8, H6, I8, K-M6, N8, (N8 leer)) Pgt. d. Zt. mit abgefasten Ecken und reichen Streicheisenlinienblindprägungen, gestaffelten Fileten, florale Ornamentbändern und zwei zentralen Mittelstücken mit Jesus und Maria. Mont. RTitel (berieben, bestoßen beschabt, wurmstichig, Schließen fehlen).

Besitzvermerk der Bibliothek des Klosters in Oberalteich. - Zweispaltiger Druck. - Vollständiges Exemplar der seltenen Straßburger Ausgabe von Jacobus de Voragines Legenda Aurea. Als der Dominikaner die Sammlung um 1264 verfasste, enthielt sie ursprünglich etwa 182 Traktate zu den Leben und Sagen christlicher Heiliger. - Nachdruck der Ausgabe vom Februar 1489. - Tls. mit Anstreichungen von alter Hand. Am oberen Rand teils minimal wasserranding. Größtenteils wurmspurig. Minimal fleckig. Ingesamt ein sehr sauberes und gut erhaltenes Exemplar dieser seltenen Inkunabel mit einem mit einem kunstvoll gearbeiteten Pergament Einband.
Prints before 1600, Bibles, Classics in Original Languages – Almost throughout with red painted-in Lombards and rubrication, with 47-line printing. Contemp. Vellum with chamfered corners and rich stroke-iron blind embossing, staggered fillets, floral ornamental bands and two central centerpieces with Jesus and Mary. Mounted spine title (rubbed, bumped, scraped, worm-eaten, clasps missing). - Very rare. - With handwritten ownership note of the library of the monastery in Oberalteich. - Two-column print. - Complete copy of the rare Strasbourg edition of Jacobus de Voragine's Legenda Aurea. When the Dominican compiled the collection around 1264, it originally contained approximately 182 treatises on the lives and legends of Christian saints. - Reprint of the February 1489 edition. - Partially with underlining by an old hand. Minimal watermarking in places along the upper margin. Mostly worm-eared. Minimally stained. Overall, a very clean and well-preserved copy of this rare incunabula with an artfully crafted parchment cover.
