Stammbuch des Burschenschaftlers Bernhard Wilhelm Bader. Mit 71 Einträgen mit 1 Zeichnung auf 75 Stammbuchblättern meist mit Kupferstichen (5 kol.). Mühlhausen, Jena, Berlin, um 1831-1842. 8°. In blindgepr. HLdr.-Kassette d. Zt. mit goldgepr. RSchild in marmor. Pp.-Schuber d. Zt. (etw. berieben).

Liber amicorum - Thüringen

Manuskripte und Urkunden – Bader besuchte das Gymnasium seiner Geburtsstadt Mühlhausen und von 1832 bis 1833 die Universität zu Jena als Student der Rechte und wechselte dann auf die Universität in Berlin, wo er vermutlich seine Studien auch abschloss. In Jena war er Burschenschaftler und Mitglied des Akademischen Gesangsvereins S! St. Pauli. Er war Referendar am Oberlandesgericht und Kriegsgerichtsrat sowie Ritter des Roten Adlerordens in Mühlhausen. - Die Einträge aus Baders Gymnasial- bis zum Ende seiner Studienzeit u.a. von: Ernst August Wilhelm Gräfenhahn (1794-1836, Lehrer u. Rektor Gymn. Mühlhausen), Johann Ferdinand Limpert (1771-1842, Prorektor Gymn. Mühlhausen), Onkel Benjamin Friedrich Beutler (1791-1837, Musikdirektor, Theologe), Gottfried Adolph Schreiber (1786-1840, Rektor der Mädchenschule Mühlh.), Carl August (Ferdinand) Bernigau (1814-1849, hingerichtet wegen Treuebruchs u. Kriegsverrats), Julius (Theodor Ludwig) Nietmann (*1814, wohl desertierter Kanonier), Friedrich Albert Frohwein (1809-1841, Diakon zu Neustadt), Christian (Gottlob Wilhelm) Rebling (1813-1878, Jurist u. Politiker in Schwarzburg-Sondershausen), Franz Ludwig Hoffmann (1811-1871, Lehrer, Geistlicher, Politiker), Johannes Rußwurm (1814-1890, Theologe, Domprobst am Ratzeburger Dom), Christian Heinrich Friedrich Peters (1813-1890, dt.-US-amerikan. Astronom), Robert Christian Barthold Avé-Lallemant (1812-1884, Arzt u. Forschungsreisender) etc. - Die Kupferstiche (Wiederhold u.a., einige Bll. an oberen Rand knapp beschnitten) zeigen u.a.: Schloss Lichtenburg, Mariaspring bei Göttingen, Schloss Rammelburg im Wipperthal, Cassel, Kotzebue, Homer, Jean Paul, Denkstein Gustav Adolfs bei Lützen 1829, Belvedere auf dem Höllenberg in Moritzburg, Jena, Löbstedt, Kloster Rosleben, Ruinen der Lobdaburg etc. - Spät. Monogrammstempel, tls. etw. braunfleckig, insg. wohlerhalten. - Dabei: Rolf Barthel. August Bernigau aus Mühlhausen. Mühlhäuser Beiträge, 1983. Ill. OBrosch.

Manuscripts – Thuringia - Liber amicorum of fraternity member Bernhard Wilhelm Bader. With 71 entries and 1 drawing on 75 sheets, mostly with copperplate engravings (5 col.). In contemp. blind-stamped half leather case with gilt stamped label to spine in contemp. marbled cardboard slipcase (some rubbing). - Bader attended grammar school in his hometown of Mühlhausen and studied law at the University of Jena from 1832 to 1833, before transferring to the University of Berlin, where he presumably completed his studies. In Jena, he was a member of a fraternity and the academic singing club S! St. Pauli. He was a trainee solicitor at the Higher Regional Court and a military judge, as well as a Knight of the Order of the Red Eagle in Mühlhausen. - Entries from Bader's grammar school days until the end of his studies, among others: as listed above. - The copperplate engravings (Wiederhold et al., some sheets trimmed slightly at the top edge) show, among other things: Lichtenburg Castle, Mariaspring near Göttingen, Rammelburg Castle in Wipperthal, Cassel, Kotzebue, Homer, Jean Paul, Gustav Adolf's memorial stone near Lützen 1829, Belvedere on the Höllenberg in Moritzburg, Jena, Löbstedt, Rosleben Monastery, ruins of Lobdaburg Castle, etc. - Later monogram stamp, some brown spots, overall good condition. - In add.: as listed above.
