Stammbuch des Bremer Kaufmanns Ernst Isaac Friedrich Schellhass (1738 Eisenach - 1808 Bremen). Mit 84 Einträgen sowie 20 tls. aquarellierten Zeichnungen, darunter eine signierte und datierte ankolorierte Federzeichnung von Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Tischbein (1751-1829), und 22 Stichen (18 koloriert). Meist Bremen, außerdem Braunschweig, Eschwege, Göttingen, Nürnberg u.a., 1769-1780. Ca. 120 Bl. (11,3 x 16,6 cm). Quer-Kl.-8°. Ldr. d. Zt. auf 4 Bünden mit dreis. Goldschnitt, goldgepr. RTitel "Stamm Buch EFS" u. RVerg. (berieben, etw. bnestoßen, Vordergelenk u. Fußkapital restauriert).

Liber amicorum - Bremen

Manuskripte und Urkunden – Schellhaas stammte aus einer Thüringer Gelehrtenfamilie und war Begründer und Inhaber der Tabakfabrik E.F. Schellhass. - Enthält neben Eintragungen von Mitgliedern der berühmten Bremer Kapitäns- und Kaufmannsfamilien Willmann und Kulenkamp/Kuhlenkampff außerdem: Frans Curtius, Johann Christoph von Greiff aus Augsburg, John Guth (Hugenotte aus London), Johann Heinrich von Haacke aus Thüringen, Georg Jonas (1748-1815, Kaufmann aus Braunschweig), Caspar von Lingen aus Bremen, Johann Philip von Lingen, Jean Charles Louis Schellhass (Bruder), Carl Wilhelm Schumacher aus Eisenach (1731-1781, Pädagoge u. Historiker), Joachim Treviranus, Watermeyer von Bruchhausen, Gottfried Zapf aus Erlangen, Johann Gottfried Zencker aus Leipzig, Christian Ehrenfried Anton von Ziegesar etc. - Die mit "28. Sep 1770" datierte Federzeichnung des erst 19-jährigen "Goethe-Tischbeins" zeigt den Kopf eines älteren, langbärtigen Herrn. - Die weiteren Zeichnungen zeigen Familienwappen, Ansichten, Soldaten, barbusige Dame u.a. - Die marmor. Vorsätze fleckig u. berieben, spät. Monogrammstempel, stellenw. Bl. fehlend, 3 Bl. mit Ausschnitt, 2 Aquarelle mit Einriss, tls. etw. fingerfleckig, sonst insg. wohlerhalten. - Dabei: Hermann Haake. Manuscripts – Liber amicorum of Ernst Isaac Friedrich Schellhass. With 84 entries and 20 drawings, some in watercolour, including a signed and dated ink drawing by Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Tischbein, and 22 engravings (18 coloured). Mostly Bremen, also Brunswick, Eschwege, Göttingen, Nuremberg and others, 1769-1780. Contemp. leather on 4 raised bands with gilt edges, gilt embossed title 'Stamm Buch EFS' and spine gilt (rubbed, somewhat bumped, front hinge and lower spine restored). - Contains entries by members of the famous Bremen captain and merchant families Willmann and Kulenkamp/Kuhlenkampff as well as listed above. - The pen and ink drawing of the 19-year-old 'Goethe table leg', dated '28 Sep 1770', shows the head of an older, long-bearded gentleman. - The other drawings show family coats of arms, views, soldiers, bare-breasted lady, etc. - The marbled endpapers stained and rubbed, monogram stamp, some leaves missing, 3 leaves with cut-out, 2 watercolours with tear, some fingerstaining, otherwise overall well preserved.
