Manuskripte und Urkunden – August Karl Platen (1816-1865), Sohn des Steuerinspektors Platen in Guben, besuchte das Gymnasium in Guben und ging anschließend auf die Universitäten in Leipzig und Berlin, wo er Theologie und Philologie studierte. Später war er bis zu seinem Tod Lehrer an der königlichen Ritter-Akademie zu Liegnitz. - Enthält Einträge aus Guben (16), Leipzig (7), Berlin (4), Frankfurt a.d. Oder (1) u.a. von: Carl (August) Benezet (Apotheker in Rheinsberg), Georg Carl Adolf Brunner (1818-1895, Pastor in Wartenberg), Ewald Andreas Grolig (1817-1859, Priester), Karl Gustav Heiland (1817-1868, Philologe, Gymnasialdirektor u. pädagog. Schriftsteller), (Heinrich Friedrich) Theodor Lenhoff (1818-1890, Altphilologe), Woldemar Bernhard Wenck (1819-1905) etc. - Mod. Monogrammstempel, tls. gering braun- u. fingerfleckig, insg. wohlerhalten.
Manuscripts – Liber amicorum of August Karl Platen with 29 (partly double paged) entries from schoolmates and fellow students. With 1 small colour floral drawing. Contemp. half leather with gilt edges and gilt stamped label to spine (label with small defect, corners slightly bumped). - August Karl Platen (1816-1865), son of the tax inspector Platen in Guben, attended grammar school in Guben and then went on to study theology and philology at the universities of Leipzig and Berlin. Later, until his death, he was a teacher at the Royal Knight Academy in Liegnitz. - Contains entries from Guben (16), Leipzig (7), Berlin (4), Frankfurt an der Oder (1) and others, including: as listed above. - Modern monogram stamp, some minor brown- and fingerstains, overall well preserved.
