Die Texte im deutsch-lateinischen Paralleldruck, die Seitenzahlen deshalb gedoppelt. - Provenienz: David (Friedrich) Weinland (1829-1915), deutscher Zoologe und Jugendschriftsteller, mit dessen Besitzereintrag auf dem vorderen fliegenden Vorsatz recto. - Mit einigen Anmerkungen mit Tuschfeder von älterer Hand. - Einige Seiten gering finger- und stockfleckig, sonst wohlerhaltenes Exemplar dieses äußerst selten angebotenen Titels. Auf Auktionen für uns nur in einem Exemplar nachweisbar (1997).

Müller after an ink drawing of 4 figures, our copy of prominent provencance. - Systematic account of all amphibians known at the time, compiled by the German naturalist Blasius Merrem (1761-1824), an abridged however supplemented version of his comprehensive 'Beitraege zur Geschichte der Amphibien' (3 parts, 1790-1821, incomplete). The texts are printed in parallel German and Latin, hence the pages are numbered double. - Provenance: David (Friedrich) Weinland (1829-1915), German zoologist and writer of children's books, with his owner's inscription on the front flyleaf recto. - With some notes in pen and ink by an older hand. - Some pages with minor finger stains and foxing, otherwise well preserved copy of this particularly rare item., nly one copy traceable at auction whatsoever (1997).
