Books on Art I, 164. - Ungewöhnliche und seltene Abhandlung über Perspektive und Festungen. - Louis Bretez (gest. 1737) war ein Zeichner, Kupferstecher, Kartograph und Entwerfer von Architekturornamenten. Er war Professor für Perspektive und Mitglied der Académie de peinture et de sculpture de Saint-Luc. Im Jahr 1734 erhielt er den Auftrag, die berühmte Turgot-Karte von Paris zu erstellen. - Etwas gebräunt und leicht fleckig. Insgesamt sehr gut.

Cont. leather with gilt spine label and rich gilt on spine, red edges and marbled endpapers (partly restored, somewhat rubbed). - Second, expanded edition (first ed. 1706). - Unusual and rare treatise on perspective and fortresses. - Louis Bretez (d. 1737) was a draughtsman, engraver, cartographer and designer of architectural ornaments. He was a professor of perspective and a member of the Académie de peinture et de sculpture de Saint-Luc. In 1734 he was commissioned to create the famous Turgot map of Paris. - Somewhat browned and slightly stained. Overall very good.
