Lot 456 Bill Jacobson. 3839. Aus: Double Exposure. …

#3839. Aus: Double Exposure. 2000/2001. C-Print auf Velin. 26,5 x 30,5 cm (48,5 x 54,5 cm). Verso signiert, datiert, nummeriert und bezeichnet. - Insgesamt sehr gut. Prachtvoller Druck mit weicher, harmonischer Farbwirkung.

Photographie - Moderne Photographie – Eines von 45 Exemplaren. - Hg. Edition Schellmann, München/New York.

Modern Photography – C-print on vellum. Signed, dated, numbered and labelled on the reverse. - In very good condition overall. A magnificent print with a soft, harmonious colour effect. - One of 45 copies. - Published by Edition Schellmann, Munich/New York. - This work depicts a bustling New York street canyon rendered in the characteristic blurring typical of Bill Jacobson: passers-by and building facades dissolve into streaks of motion, whilst the architecture remains a dark mass, barely discernible. Jacobson, who has worked consistently with photographic blur since 1989, draws on the fragmentary nature of human memory, for him, the precision of the camera is not a measure of reality. The print appeared in the portfolio Double Exposure, which brings together photographic diptychs by 14 artists and conceptually interprets the term 'double exposure' as the idea of pairing two photographs.
