Murmur. 2002. Farbiges Transparent in Lichtbox. 90 x 55 x 10 cm. Verso auf Etikett signiert und nummeriert. Mit beiliegenden Befestigungsteilen, Stromkabel. - Insgesamt ausgesprochen gut. Ausgezeichnete, kontrastreiche Abzüge mit einnehmender Tiefenwirkung.

Photographie - Moderne Photographie – Eines von 20 Exemplaren. - Hg. Edition Schellmann, München/New York, anlässlich der documenta 11, Kassel 2002.

Modern Photography – Transparency in lightbox. Signed and numbered on the reverse on a label. - Signed and numbered on the reverse of the label. Includes mounting fittings and power cable. - In very good overall condition. Excellent, high-contrast prints with a captivating sense of depth. - One of 20 copies. - Zarina Bhimji was born in Uganda to Indian parents and was forced to leave the country following Idi Amin's expulsion of all South Asians in 1972. For her work for documenta 11, she returned to Uganda for the first time and photographed architecture, airports, cemeteries, barracks, police cells and prisons from the era of the Amin regime. By translating the photographs into the medium of the lightbox, the depicted locations take on an intense, painterly and three-dimensional quality that appears both real and imaginary, coming together as fragments to form a labyrinth of displacement.
