Edition Schellmann, München/New York, von der Künstlerin handaquarelliert. - Der Bildraum des vorliegenden Blattes wird von den charakteristischen Schriftzeichen Hanne Darbovens dominiert, die sich in Form von rhythmisch gesetzten, horizontal durchgestrichenen Schlaufen zeigen und als Dokument eines Prozesses gezählte Zeit sowohl dokumentieren als auch verkörpern. Die von der Künstlerin selbst ausgeführte Handkolorierung mit Aquarell verleiht dem Blatt den Charakter eines Unikats innerhalb der Edition. Der Titel verweist auf den Entstehungskontext: Das Portfolio Columbus erschien 1992 anlässlich der 500-Jahr-Wiederkehr der Ankunft Kolumbus' in Amerika.

An excellent, high-contrast print with an atmospheric, richly coloured quality created by the watercolour overpainting. - Originally published in the Columbus portfolio, Edition Domberger, 1992. - This edition, published by Edition Schellmann, Munich/New York, has been hand-watercoloured by the artist. - The pictorial space of this sheet is dominated by Hanne Darboven's characteristic characters, which appear in the form of rhythmically arranged, horizontally crossed loops and, as a record of a process, both document and embody elapsed time. The hand-colouring in watercolour, executed by the artist herself, gives the sheet the character of a unique piece within the edition. The title refers to the context of its creation: the Columbus portfolio was published in 1992 to mark the 500th anniversary of Columbus's arrival in America.
