Meeresszene. Um 1910. Öl auf Leinwand. 71 x 116 cm (84 x 129 cm). Signiert. Im Rahmen gefasst. - Punktuell minimaler Farbverlust. Insgesamt sehr guter Zustand.
Classical Modernism – Oil on canvas. Signed. Framed. - Minor losses of paint in places. Overall in very good condition. A splendid work with gestural brushwork. - Hubert Ritzenhofen studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf from 1896 to 1907 and was a master student of Claus Meyer. He became particularly well known for his atmospheric city views, landscapes, as well as marine and genre scenes. His seascapes are among the most compelling works in his oeuvre and reflect his close connection to the Dutch coast. In these works, the precise realism of the Düsseldorf School merges with influences from the Hague School and Late Impressionism into a subtly nuanced pictorial language.
