30 Arbeiten. Blätter aus dem Feldskizzenbuch. 1914-16. Je Lithographie auf GF Drey Könige-Bütten (mit Wz.). Je 16,7 x 24 cm (38,2 x 46,2 cm). Teilweise in der Platte datiert und bezeichnet. - Ränder teilweise leicht berieben, Papier dezent gegilbt und stellenweise minimal gewellt, punktuell mit Braunflecken und Flecken, sehr vereinzelte Quetschfalten. Insgesamt sehr gut. Ausgezeichnete Drucke mit breitem Rand, teilweise mit dem Schöpfrand.

Klassische Moderne – In einer aus 30 Lithographien bestehende Folge setzt sich Andreas Gering künstlerisch mit den Lebens- und Erfahrungswelten deutscher Soldaten im Ersten Weltkrieg auseinander. Grundlage der Darstellungen sind Skizzen, die Gering während seines Einsatzes an der Front anfertigte und später in druckgraphische Arbeiten überführte. Die Blätter dokumentieren Eindrücke aus unterschiedlichen Einsatzorten und besitzen aufgrund ihrer unmittelbaren Nähe zum Kriegsgeschehen einen hohen zeit- und kulturhistorischen Wert. Kennzeichnend ist die genaue Verortung vieler Darstellungen durch handschriftlich eingetragene Ortsbezeichnungen und Datierungen, die eine präzise Einordnung der dargestellten Situationen ermöglichen.

Classical Modernism – Each lithograph on GF Drey Könige handmade paper (with watermark). Some are dated and inscribed on the plate. - Edges are partially slightly rubbed, the paper is slightly yellowed and minimally wavy in spots, with occasional brown spots, stains and very few creases. Overall very good. Superb impressions with wide margins, some with deckle edge. - In a rare series comprising 30 lithographs, Andreas Gering artistically explores the lives and experiences of German soldiers during the First World War. The depictions are based on sketches that Gering produced during his service at the front and later transformed into prints. The prints document impressions from various locations and, due to their direct proximity to the events of the war, possess great historical and cultural significance. A distinctive feature is the precise localisation of many of the depictions through handwritten place names and dates, which allow for a precise contextualisation of the situations depicted.
