Deutsche Nachkriegsmoderne – Privatsammlung, Berlin. - Das aus dem Frühwerk Hermann Alberts stammende Gemälde zeigt die in seinem Werk charakteristische Verbindung von körperlicher Sinnlichkeit und formaler Reduktion. Die vier Felder lesen sich wie Ausschnitte eines Fensters, durch das der Blick auf eine sich entkleidende Frau fällt - von links nach rechts und oben nach unten entfaltet sich eine stille, fragmentierte Bilderzählung. Die Rahmung durch das Fensterformat hält den Betrachter auf Distanz und verleiht dem Motiv zugleich etwas Voyeuristisches und Poetisches. Die reduzierte Farbpalette aus Weiß, zartem Rosa und kräftigem Orangerot - möglicherweise ein Kleidungsstück, das gleitet - unterstreicht die Spannung zwischen Verhüllung und Enthüllung. So verbindet Albert in diesem frühen Werk malerische Reduktion mit erzählerischem Moment und stellt Fragen nach Blick, Körper und Sichtbarkeit, die in der Kunst der 1960er Jahre virulent waren.

Labelled on the reverse, titled here. - Some isolated water stains, the canvas is partially scuffed at the edges, with minimal loss of paint in these areas. Faint handling marks on the upper edge. Partially white with fine craquelure. Overall still in good condition. - Private collection, Berlin. - This painting, from Hermann Albert's early period, exemplifies the characteristic fusion of physical sensuality and formal minimalism found in his work. The four panels read like sections of a window through which one glimpses a woman undressing - from left to right and top to bottom, a quiet, fragmented visual narrative unfolds. The framing provided by the window format keeps the viewer at a distance, lending the motif a sense of both voyeurism and poetry. The reduced colour palette of white, pale pink and deep orange-red - possibly a piece of clothing gliding down - underscores the tension between concealment and revelation. In this early work, Albert thus combines painterly reduction with a narrative moment, raising questions about the gaze, the body and visibility that were prevalent in the art of the 1960s.
