Geologie - Mineralogie

- Hss. Ex Libirs Bibliothque Rambourg, Chateau de Mantassiege, (Nicolas Rambourg (1751-1828).- Louis A. Laville. - Sehr gutes Exemplar.

Natural Sciences – Geology. - Mineralogy. - With 14 folded engraved plates and 1 folded chart. First and only edition. Only the first volume was published. Jean-Pierre-François Guillot-Duhamel (1730-1816) was a French engineer. He was among the first students at the newly established mining school, which he attended beginning in 1752. The graduates of this school were the first specifically trained mining engineers and all were excellent metallurgists, of whom Guillot-Duhamel was the best. Together with his mentor, Gabriel Jars, he undertook an extensive journey through Europe to gain practical knowledge. Later, he taught in Paris, became a member of the Académie des Sciences, and received numerous honors. A handbook of mining and surveying from the late 18th century. In it, the author-Royal General Inspector of Mines and professor at the École des Mines-systematizes the geometric and practical methods used to survey underground deposits, draw mine plans, and design tunnel and shaft systems. The focus is on the description of the "filons ou veines minérales"-that is, ore and mineral veins-their orientation within the "earth's interior," their dip, thickness, and mutual intersections, as well as the technical implications for support, mining safety, ventilation, and dewatering. - Manuscript from the Ex Libris Library of Rambourg, Château de Mantassiege, (Nicolas Rambourg (1751-1828) - Louis A. Laville. - Very fine copy.
