Buchwesen - Faksimileausgaben – Die Exultet-Rolle fand in der lateinischen Liturgie zu Beginn der Osternachtfeier Verwendung, indem der Diakon im weißen Gewand daraus das "Exultet" vorsang. Die vatikanische Handschrift stellt die älteste erhaltene Exultet-Rolle dar und stammt aus der süditalienischen Stadt Benevent, die im Frühmittelalter kulturell von großer Bedeutung war. Auf der Exultet-Rolle sind sowohl der Text und die Melodie verzeichnet als auch ein Bilderzyklus dargestellt, der das Gesungene illustriert. - Insgesamt sehr gut erhalten.

Wrapped on wood in an original slipcase (slipcase rubbed and slightly stained). - The Exultet scroll was used in the Latin liturgy at the beginning of the Easter Vigil, with the deacon, in white vestments, singing the "Exultet" from it. The Vatican manuscript represents the oldest surviving Exultet scroll and comes from the southern Italian city of Benevento, which was of great cultural importance in the Early Middle Ages. The Exultet scroll contains both the text and the melody, as well as a cycle of images illustrating the sung text. - Overall, very well preserved.
