Das Goldene Evangelienbuch von Echternach. Faksimile des Codex Aureus Epternacensis Hs 156142 aus dem Germanischen Nationalmuseum Nürnberg. 2 Bde. Faksimile und Kommentarbuch. Frankfurt a. M., S. Fischer, 1982. Folio. Goldener Seideneinband mit vergoldeten Beschlägen in mit Ldr. überzogener Kork Kassette mit einer zentralen reliefierten Intarsie, HPgt mit RTitel (leicht berieben).

Buchwesen - Faksimileausgaben – Eins von 150 nummerierten Exemplaren. - Das Evangelienbuch von Echternach geht als eines der eindrucksvollen Handschriften des berühmten Skriptoriums der Benediktinerabtei Echternach in Luxemburg hervor. Die Buchmaler der Abtei produzierten Dutzende von Meisterwerken der karolingischen und ottonischen Buchmalerei. Der Text wurde mit goldener Farbe geschrieben und wurde mit über 60 Miniaturen geschmückt. - Kommentarband von Rainer Kahsnitz, mit einem Beitrag von Elisabeth Rücker. Die Intarsie der Kassette mit der Kreuzigungsszene. - Druckfrisches Exemplar.

Gold silk binding with gilt metal fittings in a leather-covered cork cassette with a central relief intarsia, half-gilt with title on the spine (slightly rubbed). - One of 150 numbered copies. - The Echternach Gospel Book stands out as one of the impressive manuscripts of the famous scriptorium of the Benedictine Abbey of Echternach in Luxembourg. The abbey's illuminators produced dozens of masterpieces of Carolingian and Ottonian book illumination. The text was written in gold ink and decorated with over 60 miniatures. - Commentary volume by Rainer Kahsnitz, with a contribution by Elisabeth Rücker. - Mint condition.
