Montreux am Genfer See. Mitte 19. Jahrhundert. Öl auf Leinwand. 39,5 x 54,5 cm. Verso handschriftlich auf Etikett bezeichnet. Gerahmt in goldfarbener Leiste mit vegetabilem Dekor. - Craquele, sowie leichter Abrieb an den Rändern, partielle Farbabplatzungen/-bereibungen und Rahmen mit einem kleinen Ausbruch. Insgesamt gut, Farben frisch.

Gemälde, Zeichnungen u. Grafiken 16. bis 19. Jhd. – Bei unserer Ansicht handelt es sich um den Blick über den Genfer See auf die Savoyer Alpen vor blauem Himmel. Das romantische Motiv bildet mit seiner atmosphärischen Lichtführung und räumlichen Tiefe durch einen feinen Pinselduktus eine stimmungsvolle Komposition, in der die Figuren im Vordergrund vor der Naturgewalt der Berge abgetrennt erscheinen.

Framed in a gold-coloured moulding with floral decoration. - Craquelure, slight abrasion on the edges, partial paint loss/abrasion and a small chip on the frame. Overall good condition, colours fresh.- Our view is of Lake Geneva and the Savoy Alps against a blue sky. With its atmospheric lighting and spatial depth created by fine brushwork, this romantic motif forms an evocative composition in which the figures in the foreground appear separated from the natural power of the mountains.
