Jhd. – Johann Holmstedt (Granvin/Norwegen 1851 - Berlin 1929) war ein nordischer Landschaftsmaler, der vor allem Fjord- und Küstenszenen Norwegens darstellte. Seine Werke zeigen weite, atmosphärische Landschaften mit Wasserflächen und kleinen Figurenstaffagen und stehen stilistisch zwischen spätromantischer Landschaftsmalerei und impressionistischen Naturstudien.

Paintings, drawings and prints 16th to 19th century – Oil on canvas. Signed. Framed. - Slight surface wear in places. Occasional fine traces of craquelure. Overall in very good condition with strong colours and dynamic brushwork. - Johann Holmstedt was a Nordic landscape painter who primarily depicted fjord and coastal scenes in Norway. His works show vast, atmospheric landscapes with bodies of water and small figures, and stylistically fall between late Romantic landscape painting and Impressionist nature studies.
