Der weit geöffnete Landschaftsraum mit Flusslauf, dörflicher Architektur und kleiner Figurenstaffage entspricht jener ruhig gegliederten Naturauffassung, die für die Antwerpener Landschaftsmalerei charakteristisch ist.

Edges slightly rubbed. Overall good. Harmonious composition with dramatic light depiction. - The composition is reminiscent of the work of Lucas van Uden, one of the most important Flemish landscape painters of the 17th century. The wide-open landscape with a river, village architecture and small figures corresponds to the calmly structured view of nature that is characteristic of Antwerp landscape painting.
