Genreszene bei Nacht. Spätes 18. Jahrhundert. Öl auf Leinwand. 43 x 35 cm. Gerahmt in goldfarbener Leiste mit vegetabilem Dekor. - An den Rändern mit Abrieb, sowie dezentes Craquelé, gefirnist und verso mit einer Rissverklebung, unter UV-Licht Retuschen erkennbar. Insgesamt sehr gut.

Gemälde, Zeichnungen u. Grafiken 16. bis 19. Jhd. – Unser Gemälde zeigt eine nächtlichen Szenen mit Männer in historisierender Kleidung des 17. Jahrhunderts, die sich um ein Feuer in einer gewölbeartigen Architektur versammeln. Der Künstler bedient sich starker Hell-Dunkel-Kontraste, bei der das warme, fast glühende Licht einer verdeckten Lichtquelle, des Feuers am Boden, entspringt.

Paintings, drawings and prints 16th to 19th century – Oil on canvas. Framed in a gold-coloured moulding with a plant motif. - Some wear to the edges, as well as subtle craquelure, varnished and with a crack repair on the reverse, retouching visible under UV light. Overall in very good condition. - Our painting depicts a nocturnal scene featuring men in 17th-century historical costume gathered around a fire within a vaulted structure. The artist employs strong chiaroscuro contrasts, with the warm, almost glowing light emanating from a concealed source: the fire on the floor.
