Sammlung von 7 Darstellungen aus: "Jagdbare Thiere, theilweis mit ihren Faehrten. Augsburg, um 1740. Je Kupferstich auf Bütten. 37,5 x 29,5 cm. In der Darstellung bezeichnet: J. E. Ridinger. Eine Arbeit in den oberen Ecken unter Passepartout montiert. Das vorliegende Konvolut umfasst 7 Blätter mit Spuren von Wildschwein, Löwe, Tiger, Bär, Fischotter, Fuchs und Dachs und steht exemplarisch für Ridingers Interesse an Tierstudien und jagdlicher Praxis in der Druckgrafik des 18. Gemälde, Zeichnungen u. Grafiken 16. bis 19. Jhd. – Die Ränder der Blätter sind partiell gegilbt. Vereinzelt mit Braunflecken. Ecken leicht bestoßen. Rechte Ränder mit Spuren der ehemaligen Buchbindung, linke Ränder leicht beschnitten. Ausgezeichnete, ausdrucksstarke Drucke mit Plattenrand. - Die Serie gehört zu Ridingers naturkundlichen Studien zur Jagd- und Tierkunde und zeigt verschiedene Tiere mit ihren charakteristischen Fährten. Die Darstellungen verbinden die Wiedergabe der Tiere mit der systematischen Darstellung ihrer Trittsiegel und Spuren.
Paintings, drawings and prints 16th to 19th century – Collection of 7 depictions from as listed above. - Each copperplate engraving on laid paper. Inscribed in the image: J. E. Ridinger. A piece of work mounted in the upper corners under a passe-partout.- The edges of the leaves are partially yellowed. Occasional brown spots. Corners slightly bumped. Right edges with traces of former bookbinding, left edges slightly trimmed. Superb, expressive prints with plate margins. - The series is part of Ridinger's natural history studies on hunting and zoology and shows various animals with their characteristic tracks. The illustrations combine the reproduction of the animals with the systematic representation of their footprints and tracks. This collection comprises 7 leaves with traces of wild boar, lion, tiger, bear, otter, fox and badger and is exemplary of Ridinger's interest in animal studies and hunting practices in 18th-century printmaking. - C.R.
