Alte Künstlergraphik

Gemälde, Zeichnungen u. Grafiken 16. bis 19. Jhd. - Wkz.Thienemann 755, 756, 760, 761

Paintings, drawings and prints 16th to 19th century – Collection of 4 works with ornithological depictions. - Paper slightly browned and partially yellowed due to age, occasional brown spots. Corners with slight signs of wear. Edges partially irregular or with traces of previous binding, occasionally slightly trimmed. Overall superb, crisp prints with plate edge. - The illustrations show birds of prey and owls in characteristic poses and belong to Ridinger's natural history-oriented animal studies. As in his depictions of game and hunting animals, Ridinger combines precise observation of nature with clear imagery in these sheets. His animal depictions established his reputation as one of the most important animal illustrators and copperplate engravers of his time. - Wkz.Thienemann 755, 756, 760, 761
