Lot 1423 Adolf und Giebler, Hans Voigt. Konvolut von 5 Original …

Konvolut von 5 Original Fotografien aus dem Berliner Mondatlas. 1965-1968.

Insgesamt sehr gut.

Photography – Collection of 5 original photographs from the Berlin Moon Atlas. Each mounted on a backing board and set in a passe-partout. Verso each with a typographic inscription giving details of the degree of illumination, the age of the moon and the libration, as well as the date the photograph was taken. Each with minimal creasing at the adhesive joints. Overall in very good condition. - These photographs were taken for the Lunar Atlas published in 1974 by Günter Voigt and Dieter Giebler, which was based on the observational work of the Berlin lunar observers at the Wilhelm Foerster Observatory. The work was based on the Bamberg refractor used there, which, in conjunction with a specially designed camera, enabled a detailed photographic record of the Moon to be made. Between 1964 and 1969, a systematic series of 31 lunar phases was thus produced, depicting almost a complete lunation. The prints presented here (1965-1968) show the Moon in various states of illumination, with a particular focus on the terminator, along which craters and relief structures stand out particularly vividly due to the oblique light.
