Lot 45 Max Coor. Explosion in motion. 2011. …
Explosion in motion. 2011. Metallstäbe, Holz, Aluminium und Acrylfarbe auf MDF-Platte. 79,5 x 79,5 cm. Verso mit Stempel signiert. Im Künstlerrahmen montiert. - Insgesamt sehr gut.
Geometrical Abstraction - Op Art – Metal sticks, wood, aluminium and acrylic paint on MDF board. Signed with stamp on the reverse. Mounted in an artist's frame. - Overall very good condition. Magnificent composition, very rich in colour. - In Explosion in Motion, Max Coor condenses his central artistic concerns into a dynamic force field of line, colour and space. The star-shaped arrangement of metal rods appears to spread explosively from a central point, creating a tense visual structure that suggests movement and expansion. The clear geometric order of this radial composition is based on the principles of Concrete Art: rationality, systematicity and precision determine the structure and effect of the work. In his methodical approach and conscious design of optical effects, Coor is in line with central positions of Op Art and Kinetic Art. As with Victor Vasarely or Bridget Riley, he is concerned with active seeing, with the irritation and mobilisation of perception. Unlike these classic representatives, however, Coor's movement effects are not created solely by flat patterns, but by the physical, object-like arrangement of real materials in space - a strategy that is also reminiscent of the works of Jesús Rafael Soto or Heinz Mack. Coor expands this approach with a sensually perceptible materiality that makes the work experienceable not only visually, but also physically.
