Pop Art – Eines von 300 Exemplaren. - Hg. Alan Cristea Gallery London, 2007.
Pop Art – Continuous animation on LCD screen (including technical accessories). Signed and numbered on label verso. - Overall very good and flawless. - One of 300 copies. - Ed. Alan Cristea Gallery London, 2007 - Includes technical manual from the manufacturer Torch Computers, London. - Animation in an endless loop by Julian Opie, in which he creates a stylised, minimalist and moving visual landscape with gentle hills, groups of trees changing in the light and a flat sky. Opie's typical visual language is also present here: using clear contours and homogeneous areas of colour, he creates a concentrated composition that transforms the traditional landscape image from the canvas into digital space. The endless loop creates a differentiated view of the supposedly ordinary view: by slightly changing the motif and integrating the element of temporality with gradients of light and colour, Opie directs our attention to perception, duration and repetition. At the same time, what is shown remains familiar and calm, the aesthetic is meditative, symbolic and almost iconic.
