Pop Art

Zeitgenössische Kunst – Mit Beschriftung unten links. Unique.

Contemporary Art – Mixed media with gouache on woven paper (with wm). Signed and dated. Mounted in frame under glass (unopened). - Slightly wavy due to mounting. Abrasion on the left edge. Slight traces of paint on the edge of the picture. Overall very good condition. Splendid print with intense colours. - With inscription lower left. Unique. The Moscow-based artist duo Vladimir Dubossarsky (born 1964) and Alexander Vinogradov (born 1963) are among the most influential voices in contemporary Russian art. Together, they developed a distinctive visual language that combines elements of socialist realism with the aesthetics of Western pop culture. Their large-format, colour-intensive paintings depict idealised figures, advertising motifs and political symbols in exaggerated, often ironic settings. Behind the glossy surface of their paintings lies a subtle social analysis that addresses power, desire and identity in equal measure. The duo worked together until 2014 and, with their unmistakable style, influenced a new generation of Russian artists caught between political awareness and pop-cultural seduction.
