Lot 355 Margherita Marzotto. o.T. um 2014. Acryl auf …

o.T. um 2014. Acryl auf Leinwand. Aufgezogen auf Platte. 70 x 97,5 cm. Verso mit Aufhängevorrichtung. - Nur in den Ecken mit minimaler Bereibung. Insgesamt sehr gut.

Contemporary Art – Acrylic on canvas. Mounted on panel. With hanging device on the reverse. - Only minimal rubbing in the corners. Overall in very well preserved condition. - Margherita Marzotto studied art history at Sorbonne University in Paris and began acting and painting stage sets at the same time. In addition to painting, she also works as a sculptor, photographer, designer and filmmaker, and now lives and works between Paris, London and Naples. Her figurative works depict people in daily, intimate moments. Marzotto stylises the seemingly banal act of inserting a contact lens, depicted here, into an act of existential self-questioning. The careful staging of the body in the room, the subtle play with light and the figure's distant gaze position the work in the long tradition of self-reflection from the Renaissance to modernism. At the same time, Marzotto addresses the fragility of modern identity and the masks of everyday life - recurring motifs in her introspective oeuvre.
