Lot 178 Karl Fred Dahmen. Tele-Landschaft. 1968. …

Tele-Landschaft. 1968.

Informel – Mixed media collage with green painted fabric over upholstery in green painted wooden box with glass front. Signed (somewhat faded) at the bottom centre. Additionally signed, dated, titled and marked with a directional arrow on the reverse. - With slight surface dusting. Overall in apparently very well preserved condition. Colour-rich and expressive work. - The work is registered by Thomas Weber, Karl Fred Dahmen Archive, Cologne. - In 1967, Karl Fred Dahmen was appointed head of a painting class at the Munich Academy and moved both his working and living base to the Chiemgau region. His artistic engagement with his new surroundings marked the beginning of an important creative phase. Dahmen created works in which he pursued not a naturalistic depiction of the landscape, but a deeper, subjective understanding: through his individual perspective, he created autonomous visual worlds that followed their own inner logic and total autonomy.
