Insgesamt gut. Hervorragender Guss mit ausdrucksstarker Oberflächenmodellierung.
Deutsche Nachkriegsmoderne – Höfert 222. - Unikat.
German Post War – Bronze with golden brown patina. Stamped "O" and "HK" on the right foreleg. - The patina partly somewhat irregular, with slight dusting and some oxidation in the recesses, slight rubbing in few spots and isolated soiling. Overall in good condition. Excellent casting with expressive surface modeling. - The first and only copy. - In Heinrich Kirchner's sculpturally simplified formal language, his depictions of animals are of particular importance. The bronze sculpture 'Cow' exemplifies the artist's characteristic, reduced composition of the animal. Instead of realistic anatomy, the artist focuses on the block-like unity of the body, thereby creating an archaic calm and heaviness in the depiction. The surface remains rough, leaving the traces of the work clearly visible, whereby the bronze material itself becomes part of the expressiveness and forms a lively contrast to the static volume of the body.
