Les Contes de Jacques Tournebroche. Mit einer beiliegenden Original-Zeichnung, zahlr. farbigen Illustrationen sowie zwei Suiten in Schwarz und Farbe von Léon Lebègue. Paris, Calmann-Lévy, 1908. 8°. Illustrierte Original-Broschur eingebunden in hellbraunem Ganzmaroquin mit goldgepr. floralen Intarsien auf Rücken und Deckeln, goldgepr. RTitel, Stehkantenfileten, goldgepr. Innenkantenfileten mit Eckfleurons, Kopfgoldschnitt und Marmorvorsätze (vereinzelt unscheinbar berieben, Rücken etwas stärker). Signiert: Dervois Fils.

Moderne Literatur und Kunst – Eines von 60 nummerierten Exemplaren der Vorzugsausgabe auf China mit den beiden Suiten. - Die in Gold und Farbe gedruckten Illustrationen und Ornamente ahmen die mittelalterliche Buchmalerei nach. - Léon Lebègue (1863-1930) war ein französischer Lithograph, Radierer, Plakatkünstler und Illustrator. Er studierte bei dem Maler Jean-Léon Gérôme an der Pariser Akademie und begann in den 1890er Jahren eine Karriere als Illustrator für satirische und künstlerische Zeitschriften. Lebègue ist insbesondere für seine zahlreichen Werbeplakate bekannt. - Erste Lage leicht gelockert. Schönes Exemplar in dekorativem Einband.
Modern Literature and Art – With an enclosed original drawing, numerous colour illustrations and two suites in black and in colour by Léon Lebègue. Illustrated original brochure bound in light brown full morocco with gilt stamped floral inlays on spine and covers, gilt spine title, standing edge fillets, gilt stamped inner edge fillets with corner fleurons, gilt top edge and marbled endpapers (sporadically inconspicuously rubbed, spine somewhat stronger). Signed: Dervois Fils. - One of 60 numbered copies of the special edition on China with the two suites. - The illustrations and ornaments printed in gold and colour imitate medieval book illumination. - Léon Lebègue (1863-1930) was a French lithographer, etcher, poster artist and illustrator. He studied under the painter Jean-Léon Gérôme at the Paris Academy and began a career as an illustrator for satirical and artistic magazines. He is particularly known for his numerous advertising posters. - First layer slightly loosened. Fine copy in decorative binding.
