Aus der Absicht Abhülfe zu schaffen, entsprang sein letztes großes Meisterwerk, "Das System des heutigen Römischen Rechts" ... Die Vorrede zum System gibt das Losungswort der "historischen Schule" auf und verlangt freieste Bewegung der Geister nach allen Richtungen" (ADB). - Ränder gebräunt. Leicht stockfleckig, tls. wasserfleckig. Insgesamt sehr gut erhalten.

Contemp half leather with gold-stamped spine title (slightly rubbed and bumped, lightly scraped). - First edition. - With handwritten ownership note and bookplate by Franz August Schenk, Freiherr von Stauffenberg. - Including the index volume by Heuser, published in 1856. - Savigny's main work on civil law. - Browned edges. Light foxing, partly waterstained. Overall very well preserved.
