Rechtswissenschaften

Geschichtswissenschaften – Erste Ausgabe dieser frühen Abhandlung über das Verfassungsrecht des Fürstentums Serbien. - Biographisches Lexikon zur Geschichte Südosteuropas. Bd. 4 (1981), S. 331ff.

History – First edition of this early treatise on the constitutional law of the Principality of Serbia. - Emmerich von Tkalac (also Imbro Ignjatijevic Tkalec, 1824-1912) was a Croatian scholar. As a wrier and political activist, he represented in particular the national and cultural interests of the Austrian Slavs. This work covers 'the entire constitutional law of Serbia insofar as it is based on positive laws and recognised legal traditions' (preface). It also contains documentary appendices, some of which have been translated from the Greek and Turkish originals and made available to the (German-speaking) public for the first time. - Provenance: Date owner's remark "Dr. L. Neumann 1858" on front fly-leaf recto. - Slightly foxed in places, otherwise a clean copy of this very rare publication. No copy in trade, only one auction result whatsoever traceable for us.
