Geschichtswissenschaften – Ex Libris von Gáspar Béla auf der Innenseite des Deckels. - Mappe mit sechzehn eingeklebten Reproduktionen von Kohlezeichnungen über den Holocaust von Tibor Jankay. Herausgegeben von Bela Zsolt (1895-1949), dem ungarisch-jüdischen Autor einer der frühesten Holocaust-Erinnerungen, Nine Suitcases (Kilenc koffer). Zeichnungen von Tibor Jankay (1899-1994), der in Békéscsaba geboren wurde und bis zum Zweiten Weltkrieg in Budapest und Paris Kunst studierte, als er in ein Zwangsarbeitslager geschickt wurde. Als er später aus einem Zug nach Auschwitz entkam, wurde Jankay zum Flüchtling und tauschte seine Zeichnungen gegen Lebensmittel ein. Trotz schrecklicher Strapazen überlebte er den Krieg und wurde wie durch ein Wunder mit seiner geliebten Frau wiedervereint. Das Paar ließ sich in Venice, Kalifornien, nieder. - Ränder gebräunt, leicht bestoßen. Abbildungen in gutem Zustand.

Hinges and spine damaged and cracked.) - Ex Libris by Gáspar Béla on the inside of the cover. - Portfolio of sixteen tipped in reproductions of charcoal drawings about the holocaust by Tibor Jankay. Edited by Bela Zsolt 1895-1949), Hungarian Jewish author of one of the earliest Holocaust memoirs, Nine Suitcases (Kilenc koffer). Drawings by Tibor Jankay (1899-1994), who was born in Békéscsaba, studied art in Budapest and Paris until World War II, when he was sent to a forced labor camp. Later escaping from a train bound for Auschwitz, Jankay became a fugitive, trading his drawings for food. Despite terrible trials, he survived the war and was miraculously reunited with his beloved wife. The couple resettled in Venice, California. - Margins browned, slightly bumped. Illustrations in good condition.
