Geschichtswissenschaften – Äußerst seltene, elaboriert gearbeitete lithographierte und teils handkolorierte Pläne und Karten, als Reproduktionen großformatiger militärischer Manuskript-Karten erstellt anlässlich von Paraden und Manövern österreichischer Truppen im September 1839. Die Manöver standen unter dem Kommando von Friedrich Karl von Langenau (1782-1840), aus Dresden stammender Feldmarschallleutnant der österr. Armee, Diplomat, Militärschriftsteller und damaliger Generalgouverneur des Habsburger Kronlandes Galizien und Lodomerien (heute Teile Polens und der Ukraine), dessen Unterschrift sich auch unter dem Protokoll der Ereignisse am Ende des beiligenden lithographierten Heftes befindet. - Die Pläne und Karten, wovon 3 auf transparenten Oleaten aus Seidenpapier, mit detailreichen Schlachtanordnungen, Parade- und Exerzier-Aufstellungen (u.a. "Kirchen-Parade am Jablonowskischen Platze") der beteiligten Einheiten, Stadtplanausschnitten und Kartierung von Dörfern, Straßen, Wegen, Pfaden, Wäldern, Wiesen und Gewässern. - Zwei der Karten stellenweise leicht fleckig, die Leinenkaschierung mit Griffspuren, sonst sehr sauberer Kartensatz, nicht im IKAR, für uns bibliographisch nur das Textheft in einem Exemplar nachweisbar.

History – Probably unique set of elaborately crafted lithographed and partly hand-colored maps, executed as reproductions of large-format military manuscript maps created for parades and maneuvers of Austrian troops in nowadays Ukraine in September 1839. The maneuvers were under the command of Friedrich Karl von Langenau (1782-1840), a Dresden-born lieutenant field marshal in the Austrian army, diplomat, military writer, and then governor-general of the Habsburg crown lands of Galicia and Lodomeria (today parts of Poland and Ukraine), whose signature can also be found under the record of the events at the end of the enclosed lithographed booklet. - The maps, three of which are on transparent oleate tissue paper, feature detailed battle grouping, parade and drill formations (including the "Church Parade at Jablonowski Square") of the then participating units, city map sections, and mapping of villages, streets, roads, paths, forests, meadows, and bodies of water. - Two of the maps are slightly stained in places, otherwise a very clean set, not in the IKAR. We can bibliographically trace only the text booklet in one other copy wordwide.
