Geschichtswissenschaften – Seltene lithografische und teils handkolorierte Karten, Reproduktionen großformatiger militärischer Manuskript-Karten der Gegend von Brandeis (heute Brandýs nad Labem) und Jungbunzlau (heute Mladá Boleslav, beide in Tschechien), erstellt anlässlich eines Manövers österreichischer Infanterie- und Kavallerie-Einheiten zwischen dem 17. und 19. September 1838. Das Manöver stand unter dem Kommando von Graf Emmanuel Mensdorff-Pouilly (177-1852), damals Feldmarschall-Lieutnant der österreichischen Armee, dessen Unterschrift sich auch unter dem 16-seitigen Protokoll der Ereignisse am Ende des beiliegenden, etwas später hektographierten Heftes befindet. - Die Karten mit detailreichen Aufstellungen der Armeeeinheiten und Kartierung der umliegenden Dörfer, Straßen, Wege, Pfade, Wälder, Wiesen und Gewässer. - Sehr sauberer Kartensatz, nicht im IKAR, und für uns bibliographisch sonst nur als Fragment in einem institutionellen Bestand weltweit nachweisbar.

History – Probalby unique set o 2 hand-coloured lithographic maps of large-format Austrian military manuscript maps of the area of Brandeis (nowadays Brandýs nad Labem) Jungbunzlau (nowadays Mladá Boleslav, both in Czechia), executed on occasion of a manoeuvre of units of the Austrian infantry and cavallery between Sept. 17th and 19th 1838. The manoeuvres where held under command of Graf Emmanuel Mensdorff-Pouilly, then Field Marshal Lieutenant of the Austrian Army, whose signature is also found under the 16 page protocol of the events at the end of the accompanying booklet, which is reproduced in hectography. The maps depict in great detail the formation of the army units and sourrounding villages, streets, roads, paths, forests, meadows and waters. - Very clean set of maps, not in the IKAR, otherwise verifiable to us only as a fragment in one institutional collection worldwide.
