Janusz Korczak, eigentlich Henryk Goldszmit (1878-1942) war ein polnischer Militär- und Kinderarzt sowie Kinderbuchautor und bedeutender Pädagoge jüdischer Abstammung. Bekannt wurde er vor allem durch seinen Einsatz für Kinder, insbesondere in einem jüdischen Waisenhaus. So begleitete er freiwillig die Kinder seines Waisenhauses bei der Deportation durch die deutschen Besatzer in ein Vernichtungslager, obwohl das auch für ihn selbst den Tod bedeutete. Einige Bleistiftspuren auf dem Vorderdeckel. Gebräunt. Sonst gut erhalten.

Janusz Korczak, real name Henryk Goldszmit (1878-1942) was a Polish military doctor and pediatrician as well as children's book author and important pedagogue of Jewish descent. He was best known for his commitment to children, particularly in a Jewish orphanage. He voluntarily accompanied the children from his orphanage during their deportation by the German occupying forces to an extermination camp, although this also meant death for him. Some pencil marks on the front cover. Browned. Otherwise in good condition.
