Mit 4 farblithographischen Tafeln, 26, wovon 6 gefalteten, xylographischen Tafeln, davon 8 mit Karten, Plänen, Grundrissen und Skizzen, sowie mit ungezählten Textvignetten und -abbildungen im Holzstich, worauf 549 Figuren. London, Murray, 1878. CXVIII, 384, 12 (Verlagsverz.) S. OVerlagskaliko (Simpson & Renshaw) mit illustriertem Deckel- und Rückentitel in Gold-, Schwarz- und Blindprägung, farbigen Vorsätzen und Kopfgoldschnitt (an den Gelenken und Kapitale teils geplatzt, Ecken und Kanten bestoßen, insgesamt gering berieben).

Geschichtswissenschaften – Erste englische Ausgabe, erschienen im Jahr der Erstausgabe. - Carter, J. Printing and the mind of man, 655: "1874 begann er (Schliemann) seine Arbeit in Mykene, und auch hier hatten seine Grabungen über alle Erwartungen hinaus Erfolg. Noch immer ist der Mykenische Schatz der bedeutendste archäologische Fund, der je gemacht wurde". - Buchblock stellenweise gelockert, etwas gebräunt und mitunter gering stockfleckig, sonst wohlerhaltenes Exemplar des bedeutenden archäologischen Werks, die Holzstiche von hoher Plastizität und in den Schwärzen von außerordentlicher Tiefe und Kraft.
History – With 4 colour lithographed plates, 26, of which 6 folding, xylographic plates, where of 8 with maps and plans, as well as with numerous text vignettes and illustrations in wood-engraving, including 549 figures. - First English edition of this work documenting Schliemann's most important findings, published in the year of the first edition. - "In 1874 he (Schliemann) began his work at Mycenae, and here too his excavations were successful beyond all expectations. The Mycenaean Treasure is still the most important archaeological find ever made". (Carter/Muir) - Joints loose in places, somewhat time-stained and occasionally slightly foxed, otherwise a well-preserved copy of this important archaeological work, the wood-engravings of high plasticity and extraordinarily depth and constrast-rich shades of black and grey.
