(Maggs, Spanish Books 120). - The work begins with a description of St. Francis' missionary journey to Palestine. It covers various facets of the religious, social, and political history of the region and is significant in research for its detail and chronological nature. It also contains extensive information about the Turkish wars in the Mediterranean, including Cyprus. In addition, it describes the development and activities of the Franciscan Order in the Holy Land, particularly in Syria and Jerusalem, presented chronologically. It offers detailed reports on the most important events, missions, and religious developments from the time of St. Francis to the end of the 17th century. Uncut, partly browned, some leaves with water stains, especially at the edges, the first leaves more so, frontispiece and title page with old faded stamp and corner tear.
