Literatur des 17. bis 19. Jahrhunderts – Enthält 67 Fabeln von dem englischen Dichter John Gay (1685-1732). Er war Mitglied in einem Club zusammen mit u. a. Alexander Pope und Jonathan Swift, die teils Einfluss auf sein Werk nahmen und auch zu einigen Werken beitrugen. - Stockfleckig, Ränder leicht gebräunt, insgesamt gut erhalten mit detailierten und humorvollen Holzstichen.

Literature of 17th to 19th Century – 2 vols. With 68 engraved plates, a frontispiece and a title vignette. Half leather gilt stamped ribbed boards (slightly rubbed). - Contains 67 fables by the English poet John Gay (1685-1732). He was a member of a club together with Alexander Pope and Jonathan Swift, among others, who partly influenced his work and also contributed to a few works. - Foxing, margins slightly browned, overall in good condition with detailed and humorous wood engravings.
