Inkunabeln

Alte Drucke, Bibeln, Klassische Autoren in den Originalsprachen – Bedeutendes Werk der aristotelischen Scholastik, umfangreich annotiertes Exemplar eines Gelehrten der Zeit. - GW 606. - Hain-Copinger 441. - BSB-Ink H-404. - BMC V, S. 333 (IA.22064). - ISTC ia00238000. - Goff, A-238. - IGI 172. - Pell 279. - Polain, 2015. - Vouill., Bln. 4030.

Prints before 1600, Bibles, Classics in Original Languages – Significant work of Aristotelian scholasticism, extensively annotated copy belonging to a scholar of the period. - References see above. - The only edition of this outline of scholastic theology printed in de Grassi's workshop, in the same time a reprint of the 1483 edition by Gregorius Dalmatinus and Jacobus Britannicus, which was also published in Venice (GW 605). - Mostly attributed to the Cologne church teacher Albertus Magnus (1200-80), the frequently copied and since 1470 repeatedly printed 'Compendium' was probably written by his student Hugo Ripelin of Strasbourg (1205-70). Both are considered pioneers of a Christian interpretation of Aristotelianism. - Provenance: With numerous and extensive marginalia in Latin by a contemporary scholar, written in black, brown and grey ink, with underlining throughout. - The wood-cut printer's mark on fol. m10 is missing. Fol. a1 recto and verso each have an owner's remark, the latter dated 1516. - Slightly trimmed by a book-binder in the 16th century, resulting in some marginal loss of annotations. From fol. d5 onwards worm damage without loss of text in the bottom margins, the first and last leaves as well as margins and edges slightly foxed, finger-stained and soiled in places, occasionally also minor water stains.
