Bericht über das Detonations Phänomen auf der Insel Meleda bey Ragusa. Mit gestoch. u. mehrfah gefalt. Karte. Wien, J. G. Heubner, 1826. XI., 211 S. 8°. Ldr. d. Zt. mit ornamental gepr. Bordüre auf beiden Deckeln, goldgepr. Rücken sowie mont. rotes RSchildchen mit goldgepr. Titel, umseitige Kantenvergoldung sowie dreiseitiger Goldschnitt (minimal berieben).

Geographie und Reisen – OCLC, 165822328 - Paul Partsch war ein österreichischer Geologe und Mineraloge. - Bereits in frühen Jahren baute er seine eigene Mineraliensammlung auf und knüpfte Kontakte zum K.K. Hof-Naturalien-Cabinet in Wien. Er unternahm einige Forschungsreisen und untersuchte u.a. 1820 die Aktivitäten des Vesuvs. Kurz darauf bekam er erste Aufträge, darunter 1824 jenen zur Erforschung der Detonationsphänomene der Insel Meleda bei Ragusa. Die Ergebnisse präsentierte Partsch schließlich 1826 in vorliegendem Band. - Papierbedingt nur minimal gebräunt, partiell etw. stockfleckig. Insgesamt sehr gut erhalten.
Geography and Travel – Dalmatia - With engraved and folded map. Cont. leather with ornamental embossed border on both boards, gilt spine and mounted label with gilt title, and gilt edges on three sides (minimally rubbed). - Paul Partsch was an Austrian geologist and mineralogist. - From an early age, he built up his own mineral collection and established important contacts. He traveled on several research trips and among other projects investigated the activities of Mount Vesuvius in 1820. Shortly afterwards, he received his first commissions, including in 1824 one to investigate the detonation phenomena on the island of Meleda near Ragusa. Partsch finally presented the results in the present volume in 1826. - Only minimally browned due to paper, partly somewhat foxed. Overall in well preserved condition.
