Ausgabe. - Brunet 20685 - Fromm V, 19915 - Der Verfasser wirkte ab 1777 16 Jahre lang als Missionar in Indien, wobei er auf zahlreichen Reisen nahezu das ganze Land durchstreifte. Ausführlich berichtet er über Land und Leute, wobei er insbesondere auf Sitten und Gebräuche sowie auf das Kastenwesen eingeht und viele wertvolle, bis dahin mitunter völlig unbekannte Informationen über das Land gibt. - Im Anhang mit einem kurzen Wortverzeichnis der Tamul-Sprache, sowie einem Auszug aus dem Werk von Legoux de Flaix, die Pagode von Chalamburam betreffend.
