Asia, sive historia universalis asiaticarum gentium et rerum domi forisque gestarum, a cuiusque origine ad haec tempora mixti passim sacri profanique ritus. Mit Holzschnitt-Buchschmuck. Antwerpen, Beller, 1604. 722 S., 1 Bl. 8°. Etwas späterer Pgt. mit hs. RSchild und spanischen Kanten (Schließbänder fehlend, etwas wurmspurig).

Geographie und Reisen – Ohne die Kupferkarten und die 2 Bll. Errata. - Erste Ausgabe. - Frühe Beschreibung von Kleinasien, Palästina, Syrien, Mesopotamien und Persien. - Jean-Baptiste Gramaye (1579-1635) war ein frühneuzeitlicher Historiker aus den südlichen Niederlanden. Er studierte Jura und wurde Professor an der Universität von Löwen. Später wurde er von Albert VII., Erzherzog von Österreich, als Hofhistoriker angestellt. Vorsätze mit zwei gest. Exlibris (u.a. "Franc Com A Thun-Hohenstein Tetschen") und Sammlerstempel. Fliegende Vorsätze mit hs. Besitzeinträgen. Titelbl. mit zwei Sammlerstempeln. Papierbedingt etwas gebräunt und teils leicht fleckig. Wohlerhalten.
Geography and Travel – Asia - With woodcut book ornamentation. Later vellum with spine label and Spanish edges (closing bands missing, slightly worm eaten). Without the engraved maps and the 2 fols. errata. - First edition. - Early description of Asia Minor, Palestine, Syria, Mesopotamia and Persia. - Jean-Baptiste Gramaye (1579-1635) was an early modern historian from the southern Netherlands. He studied law and became a professor at the University of Leuven. He was later employed by Albert VII, Archduke of Austria, as court historian. - Endpapers with two engr. bookplates and collector's stamp. Flyleaves with handwritten ownership inscriptions. Title page with two collector's stamps. Paper somewhat browned and slightly stained in places. Well preserved.
